Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I love and miss my students beyond words!!! I have been fortunate to have 11 out of 19 projects funded for at home learning materials. Since the majority of my students come from disadvantaged home, they counted on having breakfast, snack, and lunch at school.
Snacktime was one of the best times of the day when I could capture their full attention for Snack and Story!!
Some of the families are able to drive to the take-away breakfast and lunch food distribution areas, but others are without transportation.
My Project
My students LOVE to eat! We used to come back from breakfast at 7:30 and at 8:00 they would start asking me, "When's lunch?!" We are having a book distribution at the end of May/beginning of June and I would love to be able to give each child 3 healthy snack choices for home!
Cheese crackers and healthy bars are YUMMY in the TUMMY!
Our district is offering a meal pick up daily, with some extra on the weekends, but some families are worrying day to day about their next meals. Help me help them. They are a wonderful, compassionate group of our future leaders!!
