We were able to purchase several Dog Man books, which have quickly become student favorites. These high-interest texts are supporting reading fluency, comprehension, sequencing skills, and character analysis. Students are practicing retelling, identifying theme, and discussing author's craft in an engaging and accessible way.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom looks joyful and interactive. Students participate in partner discussions, independent reading, and small-group conversations where they analyze text and share thinking. Some of our more reluctant readers have especially connected with the humor and graphic novel format of Dog Man, increasing both reading stamina and confidence.\r\n\r\nAdditionally, we were able to purchase film to print special memories from our 5th grade graduation. For many of our students, these printed photos are treasured keepsakes that celebrate their accomplishments and mark an important milestone in their educational journey.\r\n\r\nThank you for supporting both the academic growth and the meaningful moments that make school memorable for our students.","fullyFundedDate":1768675324740,"projectUrl":"project/dual-language-readers-discover-bravery-i/9875742/","projectTitle":"Dual Language Readers Discover Bravery in History","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Serna","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8721066_orig.jpg?crop=2062,2062,x0,y549&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1663894249975","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8721066"},{"teacherId":8952786,"projectId":9586994,"letterContent":"I cannot thank you enough for the love you shared with my classroom. As soon as the materials arrived, my students were already eager to use them and learn with them. We set up our science center, where they were able to use the sensory mats to explore scaly animals while looking and learning about them. They applied their vocabulary to describe and create a complete sentence of what they were touching. A few weeks later, the animal science discovery center turned into the four seasons center. Students were able to observe, touch, describe, the sensory season tubes that you provided. Some of them stayed there a long time, observing how the tree changed with the seasons. After the observing, the scientific conversation happened: \"Ms. Melina, I can see that in winter we get snow and it's cold while over here in spring we have flowers.\" This is just an example of all the amazing conversations you helped us had to discover our surroundings. \r\n\r\nThank you from the bottom of my heart for giving to my students and helping me make their wonder grow.","fullyFundedDate":1763054925208,"projectUrl":"project/sensory-steam-adventure/9586994/","projectTitle":"Sensory STEAM Adventure","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Melina","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8952786_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1675744599949","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8952786"},{"teacherId":9933562,"projectId":9136607,"letterContent":"My students and I are loving the new sensory supplies that you donated! Each item we received in placed in an area of the classroom together labeled our \"sensory wall.\" The students have already used the sensory bins to explore colorful chia seeds by feeling, pouring, scooping, and searching for letters. They have also used it to explore kinetic sand; with the kinetic sand, they were able to find and sort colorful frog manipulatives and numbers. The sequins wall has been a great resource in teaching \"up,\" \"down,\" \"fast,\" and \"slow,\" as well as gross motor control. The sensory floor tiles have been a great addition to provide the students a calm spot to relax and have a calm moment to themselves. \r\nThe students were so excited to see the new materials! They each explored all of the new items as soon as they were given the chance! We went over the rules and expectations for each new item and explored them with the teachers a few times; then students were allowed to use the items on their own and they have been doing an amazing job at taking care of everything and taking turns with them. \r\nWe will continue using the sensory bin to explore themes related to our curriculum lessons. For example, we will begin talking about the season of Fall soon, so we will have orange, red, and yellow rice in the bins along with fake leaves and sticks, as well as scoops and more fun items to find and sort!","fullyFundedDate":1746471830727,"projectUrl":"project/sensory-play-time/9136607/","projectTitle":"Sensory Play Time!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Rebecca","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9933562"},{"teacherId":8721066,"projectId":9076483,"letterContent":"Thanks to your donation, our classroom garden is officially growing, starting with seeds full of possibility!
