The materials I have chosen are not available as hard copies. My student thoroughly enjoy interacting with textbook literature and wait anxiously as I turn the pages of the thematic books. We have access to the online version of the stories but the students and I prefer a book that has pages that can be tuned. I've been checking out the copies from our local libraries but I yearn to have a set that I will be able to read, make notes and then place in our recently read books section in my classroom. I don't always find the titles at the library and we hear the story online. Sometimes the technology takes a little longer than we'd like. We love to read books that the teacher can hold in her hands. The easel would be such a wonderful asset because it has limitless possibilities in a kindergarten classroom where children are always looking for opportunities for hands on tasks. We have been referring to anchor charts that describe reading comprehension skills. The charts need a permanent home on a chart stand. The students enjoy word work activities and they can build words on an easel that does not move. The easel indicates all purpose and I have so many purposeful activities that will foster independent learning through interaction on this easel. I plan to use the easel with the large group for morning activities. Having materials readily available will help students stay focused and help them become independent and responsible for their learning while I'm working with small groups. As it states it is all purpose.
