Each item we received in placed in an area of the classroom together labeled our \"sensory wall.\" The students have already used the sensory bins to explore colorful chia seeds by feeling, pouring, scooping, and searching for letters. They have also used it to explore kinetic sand; with the kinetic sand, they were able to find and sort colorful frog manipulatives and numbers. The sequins wall has been a great resource in teaching \"up,\" \"down,\" \"fast,\" and \"slow,\" as well as gross motor control. The sensory floor tiles have been a great addition to provide the students a calm spot to relax and have a calm moment to themselves. \r\nThe students were so excited to see the new materials! They each explored all of the new items as soon as they were given the chance! We went over the rules and expectations for each new item and explored them with the teachers a few times; then students were allowed to use the items on their own and they have been doing an amazing job at taking care of everything and taking turns with them. \r\nWe will continue using the sensory bin to explore themes related to our curriculum lessons.
