This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I believe that I work with some of the best kids on the planet. Living in Santa Fe, many of our students face economic instability. One in four children in the state of New Mexico do not have enough food at home.

I would like to help my student's by providing them healthy snacks to keep them fueled throughout their day.

These students receive school lunch, but for many of them, this is not enough to get through the entire day. Ensuring that hunger is not an obstacle in my students ability to learn is essential to their success.

My Project

Providing healthy snacks for children who are unable to bring food from home is essential to their success in the classroom. Living in a state where 1 in 4 kids go hungry I see child hunger in my classroom daily. When a child enters the classroom hungry, they are unable to focus and complete their work because their basic needs are not being met. I aim to change that by providing any student in my class that does not have a snack with something to fill their tummies.

Please help me provide nutritious snacks for my students who come to school hungry.

These snacks will ensure that student's learning is not interrupted by hunger.

Students who are unable to bring a snack from home will be provided one of the snacks funded by this project.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
