This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a Special Education teacher in McKinney, TX.

We are a Title I school and have over 75% of economically disadvantaged students enrolled, and many of our students come from difficult home lives.

Our students come from many different backgrounds, cultures and life experiences.

My Project

Please help in supporting my project to provide a variety of healthy snacks for my special education students who I serve in the Resource Classroom for Social Skills, Math, Reading and Writing.

Most of our students come from economically disadvantaged homes with minimal resources including food.

Although we ask that parents send snacks with students daily, many of them do not and teachers struggle to provide enough snacks for our students in need.

I want to help my students be as successful as they can be without the obstacle of feeling hungry while at school. In my Resource Classroom students know they can have healthy snacks while they work and learn. I take pride in providing a classroom that is a safe and caring place where my students want to come every day.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
