Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My class is an energetic group of 20 first grade students. They are English Language Learners whose families' first language is Spanish. Almost 70% of students at our school are considered "economically disadvantaged." Some of my students' families did not receive formal schooling of their own but are committed to their children's learning.

Despite hardships of their families and their own, my students are enthusiastic learners, eager to take on new challenges.

They are engaged and active young thinkers and doers who are ready to learn and grow academically and socially. They love experiential learning and working with each other.

My Project

These products will help us have a clean and healthy classroom that minimizes germs! By reducing germs in the classroom and minimizing the spread of germs in the classroom, we can decrease illness of our students during this cold season and increase the attendance of our classroom.

Attendance is a top factor in academic success.

When students do not come to school because they are sick, they are unable to learn all that they need to learn in order to succeed.

Also, when we are able to take good care of our classroom environment, students feel well-taken care of and they are more likely to feel ready to learn!
