I teach first graders and kindergarteners who are English Language Learners at a public elementary school located in Roxbury, MA. Our students and families are diverse culturally, linguistically, and socioeconomically. The students come to school with varied experiences. Many are new to the country and some of the students and their families live in shelters. The English Language Learners I teach are adventurous and active learners who are eager to engage with the world! They love learning through creative play and collaborative learning. They love to interact with each other and learn from each other.
