Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Nestled in the heart of a large area of New York is an elementary school with students who have great potential in becoming successful citizens in today’s society. Our school is a Title I school located in a high-needs area.
Our school population is comprised of general education students, as well as students with individual education plans.
Our students are inquisitive and energetic. They are curious about the world around them and are always looking for ways to improve our environment. Our students have a passion for technology and hands-on learning.
My Project
Our school attendance is at an all-time low and this has a big effect on our school budget. We want to improve our school attendance by eliminating the amount of germs that float around in our STEAM Lab. We can try to combat this problem by having our students do simple things like cleaning their hands after using the restroom, using sanitizer after blowing their noses, and wiping off their desks with clorox wipes to stop the spread of germs.
The use of these cleaning products will help cut down on the presence and spreading of germs.
We are asking for supplies such as Clorox disinfectant wipes, hand sanitizers, Clorox disinfectant spray, and towels to avoid the spread of germs among my students. The Swiffer wet jet cleaners, along with refill cloths and solution, will help us when our floor needs a quick mopping. The chairs are used for our flexible seating area. Flexible seating allows for our students to find a comfortable area within the room while they learn. This keeps their mind calm and focused.
Keeping the classroom setting clean and free of germs will help ensure children stay healthy and stay in school. In essence, our students will greatly benefit from this project because their learning process will not be affected due to a germ-free classroom.
