Our preschool students are very precious students from our rural community. Our preschool students are very eager to learn, despite the difficulties they may have entailed in their young lives. Many have endured drug addictions, poverty, flooding, and now a pandemic. It is our new normal now. One hundred percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. We are one of the poorest counties in our state.
Due to COVID, our school has been on distance learning once this year and most of last year.
This year it was for three weeks. Which made us go to distance learning with our students. It also bumped our Pre-K start-up date up a week. This year our school is only doing in-person learning and distance learning when cases are high in our community, or quarantined classrooms or students.
We love our students and our school. We want to give them the best of everything. This new project will help the parents help them at home also.
Who would think we would still be In a pandemic with COVID-19. With the new variants coming out we still have to wear masks for wellness and health safety in our classroom and throughout the school We have exhausted our supply of masks, hand sanitizer, washing powders, disinfected supplies to help clean the pillow and blankets, and cleaning products over the course of these two years.
Our students are preschoolers and cooperate FULLY with wearing the masks and washing their hands.
They know it’s for their safety. We clean numerous times during the day. Some of our parents cannot provide the masks for the children because of the financial restraints that exist within many of the families. Teachers do provide as many as they can to the students and we do buy everything from our own pockets.
With your help and generosity we can continue to provide the children with some fun and colorful masks, hand sanitizer that will not be hash on their little hands. With all these new stock of items it will keep our students healthy, well and ready to learn. The use of masks has become a basic necessity of life and if the classroom. Thank you in advance. Thank you for all your HELP in the pass also. Without your help it couldn't have been possible.
