My Students

This first grade class is amazing. You could call them the "We Club." We care, we share, and we teach each other, encouraging all to be successful. Our classroom comprises students from Vietnam, South Korea, India, and the United States. What makes this class special? We have a great need to find answers to our questions. Each day we dive in searching for those answers using books, magazines, and the internet. We are especially lucky to have a school garden. We've planted tulips, lettuce, and peas. Now the class is asking, "What's in the soil?" "What bird is that in our garden?" I can't contain the excitement and enthusiasm they bring to school each day.

My Project

I'm requesting a sturdy set of headphones to use with our laptops. Our current set is shared with six classrooms throughout the week. Yuck! By the time we get a chance to use them they are tangled and often missing an ear piece. Now is a unique time of year when we are putting our year long study of reading and writing to good use creating posters and research reports. We are tracking the migration of the American Robin through the use of an online learning website and recording facts using Pebblego. When we finish collecting data and facts we'll present our findings to parents and classmates. Please help us raise money to purchase headphones for our class to complete our research.
