My Project

The materials I am asking for will help create a student centered learning environment where all learned are actively engaged. The technology that we have in class can provide students who are coming in with limited background knowledge a world of information. Many students who are not reading on grade level have a hard time accessing the information. New headphones and mice will allow myself to differentiate using technology. There are many websites and software that will allow passages to be read to my students. Now that they can acquire the information through auditory senses, they will be able to produce work that accelerates their learning. In my district we also use computer programs that monitor student progress, which allows me to analyze their strengths and weaknesses. Without proper headphones and mice students struggle to hear and manipulate their screens. If I was able to get them the mice, they would be able to create presentations using programs such as google slides, Canva and Adobe to share and communicate their ideas. I am also hoping to get a carpet to have a central meeting place to hold classroom meetings, be involved in meaningful discussions and a place for students to come together as a community.

I would love to start off my day at the carpet and hold a morning meeting where we focus on SEL lessons and activities. Students need to get up, move around and be able to feel comfortable in order to feel safe and willing to share. A classroom carpet would definitely allow for this!
