In order to be an effective teacher, I need a new easel that will meet my class' needs. For the past 2 years I have been using an easel that has been past down through many teachers, won't erase and is ready to be retired :) Although it serves its purpose as a chart paper holder, it does not serve the purposes that I need. The easel that I am requesting has clips to hang chart paper, is magnetic, has a bottom rack for storage, and has adjustable height white boards. Having a double-sided easel with magnetic dry erase boards will be an amazing teaching tool. I can prepare multiple activities and provide students with the opportunity to work on various tasks. One of the boards is lined and will help with improving handwriting. One of the most important elements of the easel is that it is magnetic. We will do a lot of word work with magnetic letters and it is essential to their spelling and phonics instruction. The ability to lower the dry erase board will benefit my students greatly. They will be able to come up write, manipulate letters and play an interactive part in instruction.
