My Students

My students are very engaged in learning and love technology. They are enthusiastic about school and make any day positive. No matter what kind of morning they are having they still love school and want to learn.

My students love to have fun in school.

They are funny and enjoyable to be around. They love to laugh and be silly but love to learn even more. I am excited to see what this project can accomplish in my first grade classroom.

My Project

Silver Mesa Elementary has a 1:1 technology goal for our students. We are working hard to not only achieve this goal but to make sure that technology usage is beneficial to students' educational growth.

As we continue to focus on early literacy in first grade, students are using interactive software to help them with phonemic awareness and phonics.

Phonemic awareness involves students being able to hear and identify sounds. Using headphones with technology will allow students to hear sounds clearly and correctly when using interactive software. If they can hear, say, read and write sounds correctly, it will foster success in literacy across the board.
