Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I work in a large inner-city Title I school district and the school that I work with has over 850 students. Our students at HES strive every day to be HEROES. They receive free lunch and breakfast and often face daily academic and behavior challenges. HEROES is linked to our school-wide behavior incentive plan.
We want each of our students to be Helpful, Engaged, Respectful, Organized, Enthusiastic, and Safe while there are here at school.
My Project
The use of these materials will support the learning and behavioral success of the students. Students will work each day to earn a shopping day in our school store. The items in the school store are supplies that students use in class. The items are also rewards that students earn to receive through their daily accomplishments in the classrooms.
When donating to this project, you will not only help to improve and increase student academic achievement, but you will ultimately help students reach their behavioral success.
Students work to earn the opportunity to "shop" in the school store. We are in need of supplying the school store with materials for the students.
