My Students

This is my first year back in the classroom after being at home raising my own children. It feels new and exciting to be back teaching again! I am teaching first grade this year and hoping to fill my classroom with much needed supplies that will assist my students and help them be successful.

My students are inquisitive, bright, and full of excitement as they arrive and work hard each day to learn and grow.

Many of them did not attend kindergarten due to the Covid-19 pandemic, or if they did, they attended virtually from home, so they are learning many new things this year as they experience in-person school for the first time. Also due to the pandemic, classwork continues to be interrupted much more than we would like due to rising case numbers and students being absent due to illness.

My hope for this school year is that in spite of the challenges that come with this unique time we are in, each of my students will finish the year feeling a sense of accomplishment and pride in themselves and their abilities.

My Project

My students have the opportunity to use many online resources to help them learn in the classroom and remotely, as we navigate instruction and learning from home, in light of COVID-19. Good headphones are essential in creating the most optimal learning environment. Your donations will provide these quality headphones for an entire class of students.

Another part of an optimal learning environment in our classroom is one where the students are engaged in their work and less disruptive of their peers.

A fun and effective motivator for first graders is an opportunity to earn a comfy seat for the day! The wiggle seat covers from this donation will help to create this motivational environment.

As an educator during these times, it will be necessary to not only be able to print assignments and work from my classroom, but also, at times, from home. An all in one, portable printer will allow me to do that. And a hands free microphone is also a must for all teachers as we teach in front of large groups of students and must project our voices through a mask due to COVID-19 and masking protocols now in place. Your donations will help supply these much needed items, helping our classroom run more smoothly, thereby creating an environment where students are still able to be fully engaged and get the very most out of their school days.
