Help me give my students a sense of belonging, an understanding of who they are and how they are connected to each other, their past, present and future.

My Project

My students yearn for authentic relationships with each other as well as to our 'āina, our land. In this way we foster a sense of belonging which is a deep desire for all of us.

With the time away from school and their friends during Covid, our students are still learning how to be together and how to strengthen their relationships.

We will use our new books to learn about diverse people and in so doing, learn about ourselves.

We will use our art materials to create works that show our bond to each other, our school and our 'aina.

We will use our maps to learn about our kūpuna, our ancestors and how they made their way to our islands.

In the end we will stand firm in our space with a strong foundation of relationships, a sense of belonging.
