Hats, Snacks, and Gloves for Third Grade!

Help me give my students hats and gloves to stay warm and snacks for after school.

My Project

As we move into January and back to school, the threat of snow and cold recess in Michigan will be much higher than before Christmas break. My students and I are in a low income area, and many times have coats, but don't have hats and gloves for recess or snacks for the afternoon. Having the means to provide them with hats and gloves for recess helps me know they are staying warm.

This project will help keep my students warm in the snow and their bellies full in the afternoon.

We eat lunch early, so many students are quite hungry by the time afternoon snack comes around. Having these snacks will help me provide them with something to fill them up a bit, knowing that they might not have anything to eat for a snack after school. I can have these snacks on hand to pass out during afternoon snack, as well as send home on the long bus ride, or for the weekend when I know some students may not have much at home to eat.
