Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This school year, my goal is to celebrate every student's birthday with a customized birthday card and a special snack. I have over 125 middle school students, therefore I need a bit of support in purchasing a variety of snacks. Some students prefer salty snacks, while others prefer a sweet treat. I plan to include options for students with specific gluten or nut allergies and encourage healthier alternatives as well.

Something as simple as a snack and a birthday card could make a difference in a young student's happiness and sense of belonging.

Oftentimes, I find that students save their birthday cards and enjoy telling their friends that today is their special day to receive a treat! Most middle school students prefer a snack over any other type of birthday gift, especially those who stay at school for extended hours.
