Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are refugees from all over the world! Many of them speak multiple languages and have learned English after coming to our school. They come from very low income families and would appreciate being able to do more hands on projects in school because they do not have many unique learning opportunities very often. I would love to be able to provide more of these opportunities for them!

My Project

I would love to give my class some awesome hands-on science materials to make learning Science more engaging & fun! I love teaching Science, but the school I now work at has extremely limited elementary school science tools available to use. My students are always asking me when we will get to do more hands-on activities in class, especially after a year of online learning without these experiences last year.

I would love to have the tools to actually give these amazing kids some memorable learning opportunities this year!

These tools would also connect really well with what they are learning this year in 5th grade, which will help make processing these topics easier and more fun!
