This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Welcome to our Math Intervention Groups! This year, I am supporting students who need more strategies with math. They have completed the Math Inventory and require supports.
Our school district has also implemented Eureka, and our students desperately need more math strategies.
While they are still at home, I would like to provide hands-on manipulatives to them.
My Project
The Coronavirus has changed the way teachers have had to teach as well as how students learn. When we first entered this virtual world of learning, educators had to figure out how lessons could be presented to students in the virtual world. Well, research shows that when students work with manipulatives, they use critical thinking skills to solve problems. Manipulatives allow students to move from concrete to abstract thinking. It is my goal to put manipulatives into the hands of the students I teach! I believe they can be actively engaged and tap into their problem-solving skills if they are able to have manipulatives in their hands!
