This classroom carpet will be the focal point of our room. There are many times during the day when students are asked to convene on the carpet. Read-a-louds, whole group instruction and other learning activities take place on the carpet. Since there are at least three to four times during the day when students come to the carpet, it is important that students feel comfortable and are not easily distracted. It is my hope that students will make the classroom carpet the "Learning Spot". Having a neutral toned, yet eye-catching carpet will help me facilitate learning targets throughout the day to students. The dark brown, tan and black tones will make the carpet a soothing place to learn. It is my hope that students will make this a place where they can breathe and relax.
