Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My Transitional Kindergarten students learn best through hands-on exploration, movement, and play. At this early stage, interactive learning materials are essential for developing fine motor skills, early literacy, problem-solving, and creativity. I am requesting engaging magnetic learning centers, including a Stand-Up Magnetic Design Center, Turn & Learn Magnetic Gears, Giant Magnetic Letters (Uppercase), Create-A-Path Magnetic Center, and an Engineer-A-Coaster Activity Kit to support play-based learning in our classroom.

These materials will transform our learning centers into exciting spaces where students can explore STEM and literacy concepts in a developmentally appropriate way.

The magnetic design center and gear activities will help students understand cause and effect, spatial reasoning, and basic engineering concepts. The Create-A-Path Magnetic Center will encourage critical thinking and problem-solving as students design and test their own pathways. The Engineer-A-Coaster Activity Kit will introduce early engineering skills through creative building and experimentation.

In addition, the Giant Magnetic Letters will strengthen early literacy skills by helping students recognize uppercase letters, practice letter sounds, and build simple words during small group and independent center time. These interactive tools will support multi-sensory learning, which is especially important for young learners who thrive when they can touch, move, and explore materials.

Our TK classroom focuses on collaboration, exploration, and foundational skill development. With these magnetic centers, students will build confidence, independence, and a love for learning while strengthening essential academic and social skills. These durable, reusable materials will be used daily during literacy centers, STEM exploration, and small group instruction, benefiting students year after year.
