My Project

I teach 3rd and 4th grade at an elementary school. The students in my class are identified as Gifted and Talented. They are problem solvers and critical thinkers. Therefore, to keep them engaged I am constantly referring to the WHY behind their learning. They thrive on memorizing, but it is my ultimate goal to give them an opportunity to develop a conceptual understanding of our new unit on fractions.

Fractions are tough for thrd graders, and they do well with the use of manipulatives.

I have stations in my classroom where students work in collaborative groups to solve problems.
