Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This coming school year will be my third year teaching at a Title I school in northwest Arkansas. Most of my students are English Language Learners, speaking primarily Spanish or Marshallese. My students come to me with a wide range of abilities, cultures and life experiences.

I want my students to know that they are safe, loved, encouraged and included in our classroom regardless of where they come from.

In this class, we build a community around what we have in common and our shared experiences. They all work extremely hard each and every day. My kindergartners are so full of excitement and have a love of learning! It is so rewarding to see how much they grow in just one school year.

My Project

My students must keep up with the latest advancements in education to spark an interest in Reading and other academic areas. Education is changing every single day and so is the interest of my students. I would like to add in more hands on experiences to learning to keep my students engaged and wanting to learn more.

Struggling students will most often become more engaged if they are learning from a hands on approach.

Helping students begin to learn and to have fun while doing so is my ultimate goal! Hands on activities is the gateway to help students learn in an engaging and fun way. My students will love getting to use their items in our day to day learning.
