Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are a vibrant group of thinkers who possess an incredible amount of untapped creativity. They range from honors scholars to students with special needs, but they all share one thing: they learn best when they can get their hands dirty and build something real. In a world that is increasingly digital, my students are hungry for the chance to step away from the screen and create something tactile.

To harness this energy, we are focusing on turning our classroom into a workshop where history is "built" rather than just read.

Each resource in this cart is a vital tool for their learning:

Manila Paper & Glue: These are the foundations for student-created 3D dioramas and interactive timelines.

Markers, Crayons, & Colored Pencils: These allow my students to "illuminate" history, from hand-drawing maps to illustrating their own historical narratives.

Educational US History Posters: These provide a constant visual anchor in the classroom, helping students visualize the scale and chronology of the events they study.

Laminating Pouches: These will preserve their hard work, turning a classroom assignment into a "museum-quality" artifact they can be proud of.

Highlighters & Expo Markers: These are essential for the investigative phase, helping students track evidence in their texts and brainstorm big ideas together.

Pencils, Tissues, & Scissors: These are the daily essentials that ensure no student is ever held back because they lack a basic tool.
