Hands-On Counting Games are ENGAGING!

Help me give my students hands-on activities to help them with their number sense! Each counting game will ensure that students are having fun while learning numbers 1-10.

My Students

My school is in the heart of an urban district where there are a variety of challenges young students have to deal with on a daily basis. However, these students come to school each day ready to face other challenges they may endure during the school hours. It is my hope that I can give them what they need in the classroom setting. I want each student to come to school each day knowing they will be successful in the work they do. I work with 30 amazing students that are eager to learn and be successful throughout their schooling. I want them to have what I had growing up, a love for learning and a love for school.

My Project

Students who struggle with number sense are often discouraged by worksheets and charts. Hands-on activities such as counting games, sorting, and reading will ensure that struggling math learners will be motivated to better understand number concepts.

Don't all people love to manipulate things to better understand a concept?

Students strive for success and hands-on materials work the best with the students I support on a daily basis.

Although these counting games seem like they could be for home and for our own children, many of my students never experienced educational games and activities at an early age. My goal is to give them that experience in my classroom and I want it to feel like home!
