We have gone through about half of the items at this point and it is so nice to be able to offer students a snack after working hard in class!\r\n\r\nOur snack bin gets filled up each week and the kiddos love choosing something to eat after instruction.\r\n\r\nStudents are often hungry throughout the long school day and are encouraged to grab something for our bin. My students come to work on math in small groups throughout the school day. We don't use computers often, but there are times when we will do a lesson, activity or assessment on them. I have a couple of chromebooks that are available for students to use, and it's nice to have headphones available to them if they need to listen to part of their assessment. There are times during the year when the school engages in diagnostic testing, and we have students coming to our math room to work on their assessment. If they forget their headphones, they can use a pair in the room and spend more time engaged in their math thinking (rather than going back and forth to their classroom).\r\n\r\nThe baby wipes are so valuable for just keeping the room and materials clean throughout the day. This particular project is always a favorite among my students where they get to create their own space. We take the time to use fabric paint, have students create a picture on half of their placemat, then we fold the placemat over and rub it to spread the paint.. \r\nWhat comes out is a beautiful creation, each unique and gorgeous. Why do we do this? This is a perfect size for kiddos to sit criss cross apple sauce on their placemat. The kids have loved using the organization tools in the classroom. The students each had a band on the bottom of their seats which allowed them some movement and was a way to calm them down if they were feeling that they needed it. They loved it! \r\n\r\nWith the cubby organization I organized all of our ELA books by book titles so students were able to have easy access to them when they are working independently or if they are the teachers helper and passing it out to the class. By having these easily accessible to students it allows them more independence in completing their own work and gives them a sense of pride to access materials independently.
