Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are curious, energetic, and eager to learn through hands-on experiences. They attend a Special Day Classroom with diverse learning, communication, sensory, and social-emotional needs. Many of my students benefit from movement, structured play, and sensory-rich activities that help them stay engaged, build confidence, and connect with their peers. Outdoor learning provides a supportive environment where students can explore, regulate emotions, and participate in meaningful experiences beyond the traditional classroom setting.

The magnetic cubes and magnetic tiles will encourage creativity, teamwork, and early STEM learning as students build structures, experiment with design, and solve challenges together.

These materials provide hands-on opportunities that support problem-solving, fine motor skills, and cooperative play.

Magnetic people and forms will support imaginative play, storytelling, and social-emotional development by helping students create scenes, role-play, and practice communication skills with peers. These activities encourage language development, turn-taking, and relationship building.

Sand trays will provide sensory-rich learning opportunities that support fine motor development, self-regulation, and hands-on exploration. Students can use them for tracing letters, practicing shapes, exploring textures, and engaging in calming sensory activities outdoors.

These materials will help transform outdoor spaces into an extension of our classroom where students can learn through movement, creativity, and discovery. By providing engaging and interactive resources, students will gain confidence, strengthen peer relationships, and develop a love for learning in an environment that meets their diverse needs.
