Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our school library is a place where students gather to read, research, collaborate, and discover new interests. Every week, students in grades 3-8 visit the library for class lessons, independent reading, group projects, and study sessions. Unfortunately, the current furniture was designed for much younger children, leaving our students ages 8-15 crowded into K-2 sized tables and seating that are uncomfortable and limit their ability to learn together.

Our goal is to create an inviting, flexible library space with age-appropriate tables, chairs, and comfortable seating areas that encourage students to spend more time reading and learning.

By providing a welcoming environment where students can collaborate, explore books they love, and feel comfortable, we hope to increase library visits and student engagement across our school. When students connect with books that inspire them, they expand their imaginations, strengthen critical thinking skills, and develop a deeper understanding of themselves and others. With your support, our library can become a space where every student feels excited to read, learn, and grow.
