This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our school is dedicated to promoting environmental awareness and education through hands-on learning experiences. We are seeking funding to enhance our school garden, a vital outdoor classroom where students can learn about the environment, sustainability, and agriculture. By expanding our garden, we aim to provide more opportunities for students to engage with nature and cultivate a deeper understanding of the importance of environmental stewardship.

Project Goals:

Expand the variety of plants grown in the school garden to promote biodiversity.

Provide students with opportunities to learn about plant life cycles, pollination, and sustainable gardening practices.

Foster a sense of ownership and responsibility among students by involving them in the cultivation and maintenance of the garden.

Create a vibrant outdoor learning space that can be utilized by multiple classes across different grade levels.

The variety of seeds, including pumpkins, zinnias, and marigolds, will not only enhance the visual appeal of our garden but also attract beneficial pollinators and support local ecosystems. These plants will serve as valuable educational resources for our students, allowing them to observe plant growth, study different flower structures, and learn about the interconnectedness of living organisms in the environment.

We believe that by investing in our school garden, we are investing in the future of our students and the planet. Your support will enable us to create a sustainable outdoor classroom where students can connect with nature, foster a love for gardening, and develop a deeper appreciation for the natural world.
