I teach grades 8-12 in a rural school in central Kansas. There are 93 students in our middle/high school. If you look at the demographic information with the department of education, it says that more than 63% have been identified as economically disadvantaged. But those are just numbers and they don't describe the feisty, persistent, amazing humans it is my privilege to spend all day with.
My Project
We have two seats for Adobe Creative Cloud and seven students. These graphic design and animation items will help us deepen our understanding of design principles and create displays of our projects for the Kansas Technical Student Association competition.
This project will provide leadership skills, presentation opportunities, and both technical and creative competencies for my students.
The Technical Student Association is a Career and Technical Student Organization supported at the Federal level by the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Improvement Act. Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSO) enhance student learning through contextual instruction, leadership, and personal development, applied learning and real world application. CTSOs work as an integral component of classroom curriculum and instruction - building on employability and career skills and concepts through the application and engagement of students in hands-on demonstrations and real life work experiences. We teach them Twenty-first Century skills that help them lead in a modern, technical world.
