Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our library benefits over 900 students who are primarily Hispanic and low income. Our school houses grades 6 through 12 so our library is called upon to have a wide variety of materials for an even wider range of readers. Our library is the little library that could and when the school opened in August, we had reached 4000 books.

This project will be my swan song as I move onto other adventures at the end of this school year.

Please help me to leave the library in the best shape possible with new books that will greet next year's students.

My Project

New and exciting books are critical to helping engage and sustain readers. In order to meet students where they are in literacy, a wide variety of books is always needed.

Our library serves middle school and high school students.

These new resources will impact our students for years to come. The library truly is a meeting place for our students and their teachers.

New 6th graders arrive in August. While I won’t be there to see them experience the library for the first time, my heart will be happy knowing I secured new resources that will be waiting for them.
