My Students

The library is the hub of the school, and students visit the library often to check out new books. Our students love to read for pleasure and to learn new information.

We are a large Title I elementary school with over 500 students.

Many students come from families with financial hardships, but when they come to school, they are excited about learning and reading. The library is a popular spot for students to visit. Books provide students with a way to build their imaginations and escape to new and exciting worlds.

My Project

Students consume information each and every day, but they are not always given the opportunity to be creators of innovative and informative projects. When I work with students on research projects, they pull information from a variety of resources to learn about topics and subjects. Most often, the information they've learned is then presented in a paper, a slideshow presentation, or an oral presentation in front of their classmates. I'd like to give students the chance to take their projects to the next level with the use of a green screen.

If the library had a green screen and microphone, students would be able to create engaging videos that would put them anywhere they want to go--from the Eiffel Tower to the moon!

If students learned about animals in the tundra, they could create a video where they are reporting live with the tundra in the background. A green screen would open up a world of possibilities to students and allow them to use their imaginations and creativity to share what they've learned.
