My Project

This spring, students in their second semester of exploratory art classes will visit the local art museum and see artwork from a variety of artists. One of the works we will explore is the monumental Sky Cathedral: Night Wall by American artist, Louise Nevelson. She found materials from her surroundings and with inspiration from her past, present and future created "environments" to communicate with her audience.

Students will take inspiration from Nevelson by using found objects, assemblage, and a collaborative process to create our own monumental piece of art.

The items in this project, such as the spray paint and glue guns, are integral to the success of this project. My students have so many amazing perspectives to show and stories to tell. Your support lets them use the visual arts to communicate with the world in a whole new way.
