Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Regardless of where our students live in Colorado, all have the privilege of clean water to drink and the beautiful landscapes in our state. However this project aims to make students aware that not all places have access to clean water. Through our unit on taking care of the Earth we will discuss how water is a commodity versus a human right.

As one way to make this global issue unit on clean water access more fun, students will receive a bracelet and earn charms to it as a girl or boy scout would when completing and demonstrating understanding of key details.

The floor dots and markers will allow us to convert our class floor into a world map. Through this spatial awareness students will come away knowing that globally, water is often most expensive for the poorest people. Water is cheapest in the wealthiest continents such as North America and Europe.
