My Project

My students are some of the most determined, joyful learners you could ever meet—but many of them cannot communicate using spoken words. They rely on Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) to express their wants, needs, thoughts, and personalities. With your help, I can give them a powerful gift: a voice of their own.

This project will provide AAC devices such as BigMack buttons and other adaptive communication tools that allow students to communicate with a simple press.

These devices are essential for:

Making choices, participating in class routines, requesting help, greeting peers, and building early language skills.

BigMack buttons and similar AAC tools give students immediate success and independence. One press can mean “I need help,” “It’s my turn,” or “I want more.” For a child who has never been able to express that before, it is life-changing.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
