My Project

All the students in my class are from low socioeconomic families with free lunch and half of my class are from immigrant families as well. My goal is for students to be able to have some of their basic needs needs met by the class "clothing closet". A light snack and fresh clothes can have a major impact on the school day. It may not seem huge, but sometimes this is all it takes for a student to refocus and learn when circumstances at home are not the best.

With these basic needs being met, my students will better be able to focus on learning tasks at hand.

Students who don't have the resources to purchase school clothing will have access to shirts, pants and personal items so that they can feel good about themselves and have a successful day.

Sometimes severe weather such as hurricanes may cause my school district to continue learning remotely. This may create a wider gap in my students' learning and students may miss meals they would be guaranteed when coming to school in person.
