Help me give my students hygiene supplies that can be sent home with them - including deodorant, socks, toothpaste, toothbrushes, sanitary pads/tampons, and lotion!
This group of students has inspired me with their love and excitement for learning. I've seen many of these students grow up through the years - knowing them since they were in Kindergarten or 1st grade. They make me so grateful to be a teacher - with their smiles, hugs, and passion.
My students are all from low-income households, with 100% receiving free lunch.
Some of the families struggle to provide basic needs for the children. Even with the struggles that families face, the students are happy, positive learners.
I find myself going "the extra mile" for my students (past and present). I want to make learning fun for them because they bring so much joy to my heart. It breaks my heart that so many of these students need help just having their basic needs met.
My Project
This project contains items that are part of everyone's basic needs. A child is going to come to school more prepared to learn when their basic needs are met. One of those essential needs is personal hygiene.
So many of my students come to school without the ability or means to take care of their personal hygiene.
This project includes things that most of us have at our disposal when we need them - deodorant, clean socks, toothbrushes, toothpaste, sanitary pads/tampons, etc. We feel better when we are clean and taken care of. That's a feeling that I want all of my students to have each and every day. This project will help me accomplish that. I plan to send all of these things home with children who need them. That way, they don't have to worry about not being able to afford the essentials. They won't have to worry about their personal hygiene and they can focus more on their education.
Help me help lots of students get the gift of great hygiene!
