These tools have opened up a whole new world for them. Using Photopea, they've been learning techniques similar to those used in Photoshop—like carefully \"cutting out\" objects from their backgrounds to create digital collages. Watching them realize they can actually do this has been incredible. Students who had trouble focusing at first are now fully engaged, experimenting, and proud of what they create. One of my brightest students even used these skills to make a GIF, a very basic animation, and he's only in 4th grade!! His excitement was contagious, and it sparked curiosity in the rest of the class AND in the middle school students that take their digital arts class later in the day. \r\n\r\nLearning to draw with the pen tablet was challenging at first, but that challenge quickly turned into confidence, especially with my middle school students. Once they discovered they could adjust their work—resize it, change colors, add shadows, and refine their ideas without starting over—it was like something clicked. They became more willing to take risks, try new things, and push themselves creatively. For many of our students, access to tools like this is rare, and it truly means something to them to be trusted with real artist equipment. Your generosity hasn't just provided supplies—it's given students a sense of possibility, pride, and excitement about learning. Thank you for making that happen.","fullyFundedDate":1776101728035,"projectUrl":"project/tiny-tablets-for-tremendous-talent/10187850/","projectTitle":"Tiny Tablets for Tremendous Talent!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Moreland","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10477031_orig.png?crop=576,576,x0,y65&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1776097064467","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10477031"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_31734","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":186,"numTeachers":14,"percentFrplEligible":55,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":56,"percentWhite":16,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":18,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"13.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":55.0,"schoolId":31734,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Northwest School of the Arts on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Northwest School of the Arts","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/ohio/ohio-department-of-education/hope-academy-northwest/31734"}
