I teach 21 fun, loving, and energetic first grade students at a charter school in Cleveland, Ohio. My students come from families that don't have much. Some come to school without winter coats, backpacks/supplies, and sometimes even without anything to eat. There have been many times when I've found myself fulfilling the basic needs of my students before even beginning to teach them.
