Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As a school counselor working closely with Title I populations, I've witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by individuals and families in accessing basic hygiene items. 89.1% of our enrollment is of minority populations with varying needs. To address this need, we are launching a "Take What You Need" cart, aimed at providing free hygiene products to those who may otherwise go without.
Our goal is to ensure that everyone in our community has access to essential items such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, feminine products and other hygiene products throughout the school day.
Students would then be able to keep these items and use them again either at school or at home. These items are not only necessary for physical health but also for maintaining dignity and self-esteem.
We are reaching out to request donations of new, unopened hygiene product to support the purchase of these items. Your donation, big or small, can make a significant impact on the lives of individuals and families in need.
