This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are a mixture of 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th-grade students at a rural west Alabama school in a complete Title I district. The school recently merged with another school because the district struggles financially and was unable to keep both schools opened.
Students in my school rely heavily on extracurricular team sports to keep them active and out of trouble.
As a Varsity girls basketball coach and computer science teacher, I feel that I can reach these students as a positive role model in their lives. I can model for them what an upstanding part of the community looks like. Students are motivated by technology, extracurricular activities, and unique learning opportunities.
My Project
These girls do their best to keep the gym clean and organized. These resources will help us to do so more efficiently. This would be a tremendous start to us keeping our program at a prime level. We desire our program and gym to be a featured one, and this will help us to move towards that goal. The bottles will also help us to be provided with water during practices and games. The mesh bag will help to organize equipment and go to away games with our other resources that we use for pregame warm ups. Thank you for your consideration in advance.
