My class needs supplies to successfully plan, research, and complete work for a variety of access courses. ACCESS Virtual Learning (Alabama Connecting Classrooms, Educators, and Students Statewide) is an education initiative of the Alabama Department of Education. It provides opportunities and options for Alabama public high school students to engage in Advanced Placement (AP), elective, and other courses to which they may not otherwise have access or be able to schedule. Students are expected to participate in daily learning activities such as discussions, projects, labs, group work, writing workshops, and assessments. The paper, pens, pencils, folders, and pencil sharpener are all needed in order for students to be able to come into the classroom and work on the assignments given by the access instructor. I facilitate the environment, and see a need for these items. Students need paper for copies of directions, powerpoints, and other learning material. They need pens, pencils, and the sharpener to take notes, plan projects, and basic learning. They also need folders to put their work in and have a small but organized way to keep up with their assignments.
