My Project

Our school's media center is a busy place where student voice is valued and centered. Our readers love to read and to share their opinions on the books they've read and that they want to read next. Graphic novels are probably the most requested format in our collection.

This project will put the new graphic novels that our school's readers have been requesting and that they can't wait to read on our shelves and into their hands.

The books on this list represent a variety of genres from realistic fiction to scary and mystery to manga. There's something here to engage just about every reader!

We find that after finishing a book, they often ask for more books just like the one they have finished. Getting the next book in a series is the best way to make this happen, so many of these books are part of book series that are popular with our readers or are written by authors of other books that they enjoy. Some books are replacements for books that were borrowed and so well loved by readers that they weren't returned to the media center at the end of the year, so we need to replace them.

In addition to showing our readers that their voice is included when selecting materials for our media center shelves, making these requested books available will capitalize on student interest and help to develop a lifelong love of reading. Your support for this project and our school's readers is greatly appreciated.
