Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our classroom is like a family. We are not only working hard on math, reading, and writing, we are learning to work together and become the leaders of the future. I want the classroom to be a place were my kids can learn, grow, and know they are important!

I teach in a Title I school, where 100% of the students receive free and reduced price lunch and more than 40% are English language learners.

I am privileged to be their teacher and I want to provide them with everything they need to be whoever they want to be.

My Project

Students don't get very much time to play and exercise during the school day. This can be detrimental to their learning. We will be offering an after school jump rope club to give students time to play, be with friends, and most importantly get some really great exercise!

Students will need reusable water bottles and a healthy snack to fuel them up for their workout.

They will be practicing different agility and strength workouts, then be given time to practice their jump roping and work on tricks and routines with their friends in club. This club will be so beneficial for students to care for their bodies, minds, and hearts and will motivate them to do their very best during their school day.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
