My students need a bean bag, parachute, and other gross motor materials. We hardly have any gross motor materials and do not have access to the gym. I would LOVE to keep my class more active during the winter months.
I teach a Pre-K program in Illinois. The students in my classroom are 3,4 and 5-year-olds. I have an AM and PM class with 20 in each class. My classrooms consist of an equal amount of boys and girls. They love to learn and play and definitely keep me on my toes. I would like to get some new materials. Some of our materials are old and out dated and I would like to get some new materials to make learning fun!!
My students are creative, fun, smart and eager learners.
They love to explore new things and engage in active learning. It is a new adventure every day.
My Project
The materials I chose: the parachute, scooters, and the activity mat will be very beneficial during the winter months when we can't get outside. I also ordered a bean bag for our Safe Spot, which is a quiet center where a child can go to simply relax or calm down if they are upset.
I have some wonderful and very active children in my classroom who will benefit from these materials.
The gross motor activities can also be used as math and transition activities. These new materials will aid in the learning of new math concepts, taking turns, balance and other gross motor skills.
