My Students

We have the most inspirational students! They come from more than 75 countries and a multitude of different situations but they all strive for future success and love coming to school. Students who speak all different languages come together and form a community and display endless determination and grit. Students at my school have leaped over many hurdles to arrive where they are today, and they are just looking for a little boost from us to set them off on the right foot after high school and future success.

My goal is to make sure all my students in physical education class have the same quality opportunities to learn about their own wellness and pursuit of life long fitness and health.

My Project

During remote learning I have been able to introduce students to many fitness apps that help track their fitness throughout the day. However, not every student has a smart phone and are limited in resources while participating in fitness activities at home. By providing students with pedometers they will be able to track the number of steps they take daily and feel included in class challenges instead of just guessing their activity levels.

During remote learning I stress to the students to set a goal of 10,000 steps a day.

10,000 steps a day can be challenging especially when they are sitting in front of the computer for the majority of the day. I have been very impressed with students commitment to fitness and bettering their overall wellness during remote learning. Many students are showing unbelievable commitment to their personal fitness and are making great progress.

By providing the students without smartphones step tracking pedometers they will be able to track their activity in their house and when they go on walks.
