Physical education and remote learning are two things that should never mix, but here we are. Currently, I am figuring it out with my students and I'm trying to bring them that joy and stress release they typically get form phys ed. Right now I'm completing YouTube workout videos, embarrassing myself doing yoga, Zumba, and pretty much becoming the virtual Richard Simmons.
My problem is that anytime I try to play music on my computer for the kids to help instill a little extra motivation, the music will often lag and skip due to the large class sizes and my computer having so many tabs open. This would be no problem last year because I had myself a beautiful powerful speaker the filled the gymnasium with "great" tunes throughout the day. However, during the summer the ceilings leaked and collapsed on it making it a 20lb doorstop. The year prior I had a student take out another speaker with soccer ball then his body.
So folks this will be my 3rd speaker in 3 years so I would really appreciate the opportunity to give the students a little familiarity during remote phys and play all my "corny" music that I know my students are missing. When we do return I will have a durable speaker that can help every kid no matter the language they speak get motivated with music.
