Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a second year teacher in Oakland and am working on expanding my classroom library. The books in this project are mainly high interest books that students have requested from me.

The remaining books are ones I chose based on either centering POC or discussing real world subjects like money.

Getting these students the books they want to read is the first step in building their love for reading, which will in time increase their reading abilities. Kids that don't like what they are reading, won't read.
